Arus Binti

Arus Binti is an ode to women who are resilient to what life throws at them. They are the softness that doesn't break. Part of an on-going series of short experimental video and visual works.

The first installment is a form of visual - poetry,

About a girl finding faith in herself and her voice through life's trials and tribulations as she floats upstream on a prayer mat, she chants the poetry verses repeatedly much like a 'zikir' in order to keep afloat ––mirroring the constant flow of acceptance and emotions.

Lemas terapung hanyut,

Drown terapung hanyut,

Lemas float hanyut,

Lemas terapung flow,

Through deras dan tenang,

trials gadis roh berbelang,

hitam kelabu putih,

bersih yang keruh to jernih,

akar dalam kuat mencekam,

hati tak takut untuk menyelam,

Binti boleh renang.

Lemas terapung hanyut,

Drown terapung hanyut,

Lemas float hanyut,

Lemas terapung flow,

Roots, the gripping inside,

A heart unafraid to dive and belong,
